Rev. Louis A. Banks delivered a poignant sermon titled "The Fountain of Living Water," exploring the significance of spiritual life and the transient nature of earthly comforts. He emphasized that true fulfillment comes from carrying within oneself a living fountain of spiritual life, much like the ancient wells that sustain life but inevitably dry up over time. In one sentence: Through vivid metaphors and personal anecdotes, Rev. Banks encouraged the congregation to seek the enduring source of life found in Jesus Christ, ensuring a meaningful journey through life's challenges.

Big Idea
God gives us a special well in our hearts that never runs dry!
Bible Story
One day, Jesus met a woman at a well outside a town called Samaria. The water from this well was good to drink, but it wasn't as special as the water Jesus offered. This water would give her life and make it better forever! Jesus showed the woman how to find this special water inside her heart.
Talk About It
- What did Jesus offer the woman at the well?
- How is the water from the well different from the water Jesus gave?
- Why do you think Jesus was so kind to the woman?
- Can you imagine drinking water that makes you happy forever?
Activity: Making a Well of Water
Supplies:
- Clear plastic cups
- Blue food coloring
- Small rocks or pebbles
- Cotton balls
- A small plastic plant
Instructions:
- Fill the clear plastic cup with water.

- Place some small rocks and cotton balls at the bottom of the cup to represent the well's depth and beauty.
- Put the little plant in the cup to show how life can grow from this well.
Memory Verse (Paraphrase)
John 4:14 The water Jesus gave is like a spring that keeps flowing, giving us a happy, wonderful life forever!
This water is better than any drink you can find at a well.
Prayer
Thank you, God, for the special well in our hearts. Help us to always look for this well and never forget about it. Amen.
Day 1 (Monday): The Well of Living Water
Read: John 4:14
In today's sermon, Rev. Banks emphasized the importance of carrying within our hearts a living fountain of spiritual life. Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman about the water that would be in her a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4:14).
Reflect: How does the image of the well symbolize both physical and spiritual refreshment? What does it mean for our lives to have a living fountain of spiritual life within us?
Pray: Lord, help me to find in You the living water that brings true refreshment and eternal life.
Day 2 (Tuesday): Drying Up Wells
Read: Ecclesiastes 1:9
The dry season comes for every well. Some wells will run dry because of drought, and others due to neglect or misuse. Today’s reflection focuses on the transient nature of earthly sources of satisfaction.
Reflect: How can we be wise stewards of our health, reputation, and wealth? What are some ways to ensure that these sources do not become dried up?
Pray: Lord, show me how to use my gifts wisely so that they do not dry up but continue to flow abundantly.
Day 3 (Wednesday): The Home Within
Read: Psalm 139:13-14
The home is a place of comfort and rest, yet it can also be a source of sorrow. Today’s reflection explores the beauty and fragility of home life.
Reflect: How does the metaphor of a nest in the sermon relate to our homes? What are some ways we can cherish the home within us?
Pray: Lord, help me to cherish the home You have given me and to see it as a place where Your presence dwells.
Day 4 (Thursday): Youth and Opportunity
Read: Proverbs 20:15
The youth is a time of great potential, but it can also be squandered. Today’s reflection looks at the importance of making the most of our youthful years.
Reflect: How can we ensure that our youth does not pass us by in vain? What steps can we take to cultivate the fountain of eternal life within us?
Pray: Lord, guide me in using my youth for Your glory and to plant the seeds of eternal life within me.
Day 5 (Friday): The Power Within
Read: Romans 7:23-25
The power to punish lies hidden in every emotion and impulse. Today’s reflection focuses on the inner struggle and the hope found in Christ.
Reflect: How can we harness the delicate faculty of relish within us for good? What does it mean to live in harmony with God's design?
Pray: Lord, give me the strength to use my emotions and impulses to bring glory to You and to grow ever closer to Your living water.

Preview text: Rev. Louis A. Banks preached on the story of Christ and a woman at the well, inviting us to carry within our hearts a living fountain of spiritual life.
Dear church family,
This past Sunday, we delved into John 4:14 with Rev. Louis A. Banks as he spoke about the Fountain of Living Water. He reminded us that just like physical wells can dry up, so too can our earthly sources of comfort and satisfaction. The true source of lasting peace and joy is a well within our hearts—God's living water. This message challenges each one of us to consider what we are trusting in for fulfillment and contentment.
This week, let us examine whether we have placed our hope solely in temporary sources such as health, wealth, or relationships. May God help us to trust fully in Him alone. As we carry this truth with us throughout the week, may it encourage us to invite Jesus into every aspect of our lives, especially when we face challenges and uncertainties.
See you Sunday for more inspiration!
